Chathamangalam is a prosperous agricultural village surrounded by the Cherupuzha and Irupazhinjipuzha, which are tributaries of the Chaliyar River. The region, characterized by hills, paddy fields, and streams, covers an area of 40.24 square kilometres. The Panchayat was established on 24 September 1956.
There is a need to improve agricultural production by making better use of our water resources, developing irrigation projects, and providing farmers with necessary support and scientific awareness. The Nairkuzhi Lift Irrigation Project benefits hundreds of farmers. Fallow land should be brought under cultivation, and fish farming should be encouraged.
Projects should also be implemented to improve infrastructure and enhance the quality of education in schools.
